As part of the Fort Bend County Hazardous Materials Team, Fort Bend County EMS operates a tox-medic program. Tox-medics carry specific regiments of medication antidotes that when administered, counteracts the exposure of chemicals or bio-hazardous materials to first responders or patients. Funded by the Urban Areas Securities Initiative (UASI) grant, medications are available across the county in three separate caches managed by on-duty battalion chiefs.
